NYMStyleExtender

I was sent an intriguing product to try out. It’s called Deja Vu ‘Do and is supposed to extend your hairstyle and allow you to go longer between washes. Great concept and I was excited to give it a shot. It claims to block humidity and repel dirt and oils while being a styling base and adding body and a flexible hold.

So, the instructions say to use a nickle sized amount after towel drying hair. All you have to do is apply it from root to tip, or in areas where you get oil/dirt easily. I personally have shorter hair, but it’s incredibly thick. A nickle sized amount wasn’t really enough, so I had to use a tiny bit more. Normally, I wash my hair every two days and use dry shampoo on day two to make it look fresh. I was hoping this product would allow me to skip the dry shampoo aspect.

Well, I did skip the dry shampoo, only because I had to actually wash my hair to get this stuff out. It made my hair lay flat and dull while giving it a gross texture that was a cross between oily and rough. It was disgusting. It also did not keep the style as it was.

On the positive side, when you first use it, it smells really good. It doesn’t do what it claims to in any way, but it smells nice. I think it might work on people with extra dry hair that’s thin, but if you have normal or thick hair, I’d suggest just skipping out on this.

You can purchase this wherever Not Your Mother products are sold and the full sized tube retails for $9.00.
