Welcome to Friday Favorites! These are going to be every so often and will feature some of my favorite items and it can range from skincare to seasonal items. This time we’re going to look at my favorite lipsticks for Fall! To me, fall means darker vampy colors. That doesn’t mean you have to wear those only in fall and you should ditch all your other lipsticks, it’s just what I like. Wear what you like whenever the hell you want.
Let’s get this started!
First up is a lipstick from Urban Decay called Mrs. Mia Wallace. This was an LE lipstick and was part of the Pulp Fiction collection. It’s no longer available, but I had to include it because it’s one of my all time favorite reds and is perfect for the fall. It’s very pigmented, lasts a long time on the lip, and when it does fade, it leaves a wonderful stain.
This is the only lipgloss on the list since I don’t really use them, but this one is from an indie company called Shiro Cosmetics. The shade is Nic Cage Churning Butter One Crisp Thanksgiving Morn. Seriously, that’s the name of it. It retails for 8 dollars and is a nice gloss for when you want a bit of color, but not a ton. It goes on well and isn’t sticky like a normal gloss. It also smells and tastes like honey.
I don’t hear much about Rimmel lipsticks outside of the Kate Moss line, but this one is a hidden gem. It’s called Metallic Seduction and is a nice vampy lipstick with a frosted finish. It pulls a bit on the brown side making it perfect for fall. The formula applies well, but does need a couple of coats as it can get patchy. It lasts decently on my lips, but I do need to touch up after a couple of hours if I’m drinking and eating. It retails for about 8 dollars. You can find it here on Amazon or anyplace Rimmel is sold.
Speaking of Rimmel and the Kate Moss line, this has to be my HG lipstick. It’s shade 104 and it’s a nice mauve-berry that leans towards a MLBB. It does have a slight watermelon smell, but that wears off over time. It’s creamy, matte, and lasts a while without touchups. It’s not a drying matte either, which means it’s better for everyday wear. They retail for about 5 dollars. You can find them on Amazon or anyplace Rimmel is found.
I debated on adding this particular lipstick, but it does have a cult following and the color is really nice. This is Revlon’s Black Cherry. It’s a great color, but the formula isn’t the greatest for me. This is best if layered over something else to give it a nice vampy edge. It retails for 8 dollars at Ulta, but can be found pretty much anywhere Revlon is sold.
I’m going to do these two at the same time. They’re from the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream line. The shades are Stockholm and Monte Carlo. Both of them are great colors for fall and last a long time on me. I know there’s a ton of people that have issues with the SMLCs, so these aren’t for everyone, but I love them. They retail on Amazon for 6 dollars, but you can get them at many drugstores and Ulta has them on sale often.
Another NYX product! This time it’s from the Matte line and it’s called Perfect Red. It’s a brighter red, but it’s a great transition color for when summer is winding down. This is a creamy formula that has a matte finish. It’s much easier to work with compared to the SMLCs and easier to touch up. They retail for 6 dollars at Ulta, but go on sale often. They can also be found anyplace NYX is sold. I got mine from Target personally.
Another cult favorite! Maybelline Touch of Spice. It’s a gorgeous matte pinky-brown. When I think of fall lips, this is the first thing that jumps to my mind. This is also supposed to be a good dupe of MAC Twig. I don’t have any MAC lipsticks to test that theory though. It’s creamy, pigmented, and lasts a while. It’s currently 5 dollars on Amazon, but can also be found anyplace Maybelline is sold. I got mine from Walmart.
This one bucks the matte trend again and is easy to find. This is Silverstone (760) by Loreal. It is a metallic/frosty greige and goes on easily. It does have a bit more slip than most lipsticks and requires touch up more often, but it’s a gorgeous color so I suck it up. It retails at Ulta for 8 dollars, but I remember getting this for about 6 dollars at Walmart.
Last one of the super affordable colors, and it’s Jordana Modern Matte in Dare. It’s a nice rich berry color that leans on the vampy side. It’s another matte and it lasts a long time. It’s also the cheapest of all of the lipsticks on this list. The downside is that it can be a bit hard and pulls during application. I found warming it up between my hands (or stick it in a bra if you’re into that) helps with the pulling. It retails for 3 dollars on the Jordana website, but I got mine for 2.50 at Walgreens. This is one of those brands you grab to try out new fun shades without an investment. I highly suggest them!
I don’t see a lot of people talk about this brand, but Japonesque has some really nice lipsticks. This one is shade #08 and it’s a nice deep berry color that leans more towards red. This is a creamy and super pigmented lipstick. It’s also quite hydrating and wears for a long time. The case is also nice and sturdy and clicks into place so it’s purse safe! It retails for 20 dollars a tube and can be found on Amazon and at Ulta.
As you can see, this is a very worn and used lipcolor. It’s Bite Beauty Lush Lip Tint in Black Currant. It was my first dive into darker lip colors and it’s actually more of a tinted lip balm than a lipstick. That means it’s a bit more work appropriate for people and super hydrating. It has a nice smell and goes on easily. As it’s a tint, it wears off fairly easily, but worth the touch ups. This is another one where the case snaps in place so it’s purse safe. It retails for 24 dollars at Sephora.
Our last one is another matte, but a liquid matte lipstick. This is Vampira by Kat Von D. It’s a long wearing liquid lipstick so it requires a bit of effort to get it on and have it look awesome. For me, it’s totally worth the effort. It’s the perfect fall color because it’s dark, deep, and super vampy (hence the name). It’s a burgandy that pulls slightly red. It lasts for hours through eating and drinking. It retails for 20 dollars and is exclusive to Sephora.
Hope you enjoyed these favs! If you follow my Instagram (it’s in the sidebar!) you can see me wearing some of these over the past few weeks and in the future for sure.
