BBAC – December Birchbox Review

20151217_155124

So I have my December Birchbox review for you guys! I also did a video review, which you can watch after the jump. Don’t worry, there’s a breakdown to read as well!

So, this month I got 5 products and I’ll just go down the card I got with my thoughts.

The first one is amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. This one was a wetter formula for a dry shampoo and left a weird feeling at the roots of my hair. The sample size was also much smaller than other dry shampoo samples I’ve gotten in the past. It also had a weird smell. The full size is $22 and I will not be purchasing it.

Next up we have the Coastal Scents styleEyes Eyeshadows. The full size palette is $12 and this was my sample choice for the month. I went with the green and gold duo and they weren’t bad, but they weren’t great. The green was muddy and I had issues blending it out. The gold worked, but I suspect it was because I applied it with my fingers instead of brush. I have no interest in buying the palette.

The next thing is the Eyeko Fat Liquid Liner. This was supposed to be sent out to all subscribers a few months ago, but that didn’t happen. It’s also a sample choice for next month, but I got it this month. It’s not a bad eyeliner. The tip does allow for a thin line, but if you move the wrong way, it’ll be a thick line. If you want a nice thick and bold wing, this is a great eyeliner. It dries down nice and doesn’t smudge easy. I don’t care for it because I have hooded eyes and not much space between my lashline and brow, so thick eyeliner isn’t my thing. The full size is $16 and while I wouldn’t purchase it, I do recommend it for others with different needs.

I also got the Parlor Touchable Curl Cream. It claims to make curls look better. I don’t have curly hair, but I do have wavy hair and with how it’s cut, it does curl a bit. I gave it a go and it just made my hair greasy on the ends and my curl/wave actually straightened out. This just doesn’t suit me, so I wouldn’t purchase it. The full size price is $24.

The last thing is the Vasanti Brighten Up Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator, which retails for $34. This is a face exfoliater that claims to give the same effects of microdermabrasion. I don’t care for this product because it uses physical exfoliation and that’s not good for the skin on your face. It did remove the dry patches I had on my face and didn’t make my face feel tight, but it didn’t do anything else. I’m probably going to use it for my feet since I have dry spots on there. I won’t be buying this.

Final Thoughts:

This box is a big old meh from me. Half the products weren’t suited for me and the others weren’t that great. I’m hoping next months box will be better.

If you’re interested in joining Birchbox, it’s $10 a month and you can sign up using my link here.

Happy Holidays!
